Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These Terms govern your use of Fully Open Records ("FOR", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating an account or using FOR, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Fully Open Records provides services for discovering, listening to, sharing and promoting music and related artist content.
Features may include artist profiles, music streaming, radio, releases, gigs, promotional tools, analytics, messaging and other services.
Features may change as the platform develops.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for information and activity associated with your account and for taking reasonable steps to keep your account secure.
You must provide accurate information where reasonably required for the operation of the service.
You must not impersonate another person or organisation or obtain unauthorised access to another user's account.
3. Artist accounts
If you create, claim or manage an artist profile, you confirm that you have the authority to represent that artist or otherwise manage the content you submit on their behalf.
Where several people are associated with an artist, FOR is not responsible for resolving internal disputes about band membership, management or ownership.
We may require reasonable evidence before changing control of a disputed artist account.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit to FOR.
By uploading or publishing content, you grant Fully Open Records the non-exclusive permission necessary to host, store, reproduce, process, stream, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the FOR service and your presence on it.
This permission includes technical processing necessary to deliver the service, such as creating audio streams, artwork sizes, previews, metadata, promotional images and similar formats.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit the content and grant these permissions.
5. Music rights
You must not upload music, artwork, photographs or other material that you do not have the right to use.
Artists and uploaders remain responsible for the rights in content they submit.
Where applicable, FOR may report music usage to performing-rights, licensing or royalty organisations.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of an artist's copyright to Fully Open Records.
6. Radio and editorial selection
Uploading music to FOR does not guarantee radio play, editorial coverage, featured placement, compilation inclusion or promotion.
FOR may select, schedule, feature or remove music from editorial and radio placements at its discretion.
7. Analytics
FOR may provide artists with information such as profile views, music plays, radio plays and other engagement information.
Analytics are provided as useful platform information and may be affected by technical limitations, filtering, fraud prevention and measurement methodology.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, FOR analytics should not be treated as certified royalty or financial statements.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use FOR to:
- break the law;
- infringe intellectual-property rights;
- harass, threaten or abuse others;
- distribute malware or malicious code;
- attempt unauthorised access;
- manipulate plays, views or analytics;
- operate automated systems that place unreasonable loads on FOR;
- send spam or fraudulent communications;
- impersonate another person or artist;
- interfere with the security or operation of the service.
We may restrict or suspend accounts reasonably believed to be involved in abuse or serious breaches of these Terms.
9. Messaging
Users are responsible for messages they send through FOR.
Messaging must not be used for harassment, threats, spam, fraud or unlawful activity.
FOR may take reasonable measures to investigate reported abuse and protect users and the service.
10. Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Features may occasionally be changed, suspended or unavailable for maintenance, security or operational reasons.
11. Third-party services
FOR may interact with third-party services, websites or authentication providers.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
FOR is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
12. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- serious or repeated breaches of these Terms;
- illegal activity;
- security threats;
- fraud;
- infringement of third-party rights;
- abuse of other users or the service.
Where appropriate, we will take reasonable account of the circumstances before doing so.
13. Closing your account
You may request closure of your FOR account.
Information about account and data deletion is available at:

14. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
To the extent permitted by law, FOR is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or business losses arising from use of a free consumer service.
Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service develops.
Material changes will be communicated where reasonably appropriate.
The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
